[EXES] Chapter 54 – The Ability to Control Time

Although Su Mu was furious, he hadn’t completely lost control of his emotions. Because of that, he quickly noticed that the strange expression on Luo Beiyao’s face was gradually fading, and the itching, stinging sensation that had been rubbing invisibly against his skin disappeared without a trace.

Instead of feeling relieved, Su Mu grew even more irritable.

This sense of an unknown threat made his entire body feel uncomfortable. Having endured Luo Beiyao’s inexplicable behavior for so long, the anger he’d been suppressing suddenly swelled to an unimaginable level.

If he could, Su Mu would kill Luo Beiyao.

Unfortunately, his strength didn’t allow it.

He clenched his fingers tightly. A rare trace of murderous hostility flashed through his usually cold brows.

Luo Beiyao was a Nascent Soul cultivator with keen senses. Even without turning his head, he immediately felt the barely concealed killing intent radiating from Su Mu.

He could tell—

Su Mu had genuinely developed the desire to kill him.

Because he had kissed him?

Did Su Mu really hate him that much?

Luo Beiyao pressed his thin lips together. The warmth in his eyes was gradually swallowed by deep purple. His long fingers tightened around the steering wheel.

After an unknown amount of time, he suddenly spoke.

“Do you hate me that much?”

Su Mu’s expression was icy. It was rare for him to lose control of his emotions like this. That strange aura clinging to Luo Beiyao seemed to have dragged out every negative emotion buried deep inside his heart.

This time, he didn’t bother hiding his disgust at all.

“What do you think?”

The sensation was like knives twisting through his heart.

Luo Beiyao felt pain tear through his organs. He pressed his lips together, a surge of chaotic blood rising to his throat. Struggling to suppress the unbearable ache there, he suddenly raised a hand to cover the left side of his face.

Something warm slipped down from the corner of his eye.

Su Mu was like a thorn lodged deep in his heart.

He loved him to the very core, loved him down to the bone—so much so that he could never bear to pull that thorn out.

Until the wound slowly began to fester, flesh rotting and growing together with the sharp spike. And then Su Mu left without a trace of hesitation.

When the flesh had already fused with the thorn, forcibly tearing it out would only leave behind a hideous, festering wound.

Even when the person had already gone far away—so far that he wouldn’t even spare him a backward glance—Luo Beiyao still clutched the wound and chased after him like a madman, risking his life.

Even if Su Mu stabbed him once and then said he loved him, he would accept it gladly.

Sure enough.

He really was cheap to the bone.

But…

So what if Su Mu hated him?

Even if Su Mu despised him, he would never let go.

That strange sensation came again.

Su Mu scratched hard at his skin, the itch laced with pain, as if ants were crawling all over his body. The originally formless presence slowly revealed itself before his eyes.

Threads of faint black mist wrapped around Luo Beiyao’s body, adding a touch of evil and an inescapable gloom to his already exquisitely handsome features.

Seeing the pale black mist continuously drifting from Luo Beiyao toward himself, Su Mu’s eyes flew open in shock.

He met those phoenix eyes suffused with deep purple.

The overwhelming pressure made it feel as though the air itself had frozen solid.

And in truth—

It had.

Luo Beiyao had been driving just moments ago, but now not only the truck, but everyone inside the cargo compartment had frozen in place.

Lu Shuangshuang’s hand, raised to wipe away tears from reddened eyes, was suspended against her cheek, unmoving.

Su Wanmei’s gentle smile was stiff on her face.

Even a withered leaf falling from a tree outside the window was stopped midair.

This was…

An ability to control time?
