[EXES] Chapter 27 – Women Aren’t as Fun as Men

Fang Yiyang had assumed it was just ordinary disinfectant. He never imagined that disinfectant could suppress the zombie virus. When he asked Luo Beiyao about it earlier, it had really just been because his whole body felt cold and he needed some reassurance.

He picked up the bottle of spiritual liquid water and poured it straight over the wound on his arm. A good amount of it slid down from the injury and splashed onto the floor.

If any cultivator had seen this, they would have been heartbroken on the spot and cursed Fang Yiyang for wasting heaven’s gifts. This was spiritual liquid, capable of cleansing meridians and remolding the body—something cultivators would kill for. Even though it had been diluted many times over and no longer possessed the full effects of body refinement, its value was still enough to make countless cultivators on the Blue Star scramble for it.

After finishing bandaging Su Mu’s wound, Luo Beiyao lifted him up without hesitation and glanced at Fang Yiyang.

“You done?”

Fang Yiyang froze. The motion of wrapping the bandage around his arm paused.
“You’re taking me back, too?”

Luo Beiyao gently brushed his fingers over Su Mu’s pale neck and asked instead, “Or do you plan to stay here?”

Fang Yiyang immediately sprang up. “No, no, no—Boss, I’m going back with you.”

Luo Beiyao placed Su Mu in the front passenger seat and, unable to help himself, reached out to touch his eyelids, a trace of worry flashing through his eyes. Fang Yiyang opened the back door and climbed in as well.

Watching the scenery outside slide past, Fang Yiyang clenched his fists tightly, terrified that he might still become infected. But as time passed, he realized that the chill in his body wasn’t getting worse.

He relaxed slightly.

Lifting his arm, he looked at the wound. The blood that had been darkened earlier had returned to a bright red. The massive weight that had been hanging over his chest finally dropped away.

Fang Yiyang wiped his forehead, his palm slick with cold sweat, and let out a long breath. Only then did he belatedly notice something odd.

“Boss… what’s going on with Su Mu?” Fang Yiyang asked hesitantly. “Other than the black blood on his back, he doesn’t look infected at all. And now he’s unconscious… unconscious…”

He paused, a strange thought popping into his head. “…You didn’t knock him out, did you?”

Luo Beiyao’s long fingers rested on the black steering wheel, pale and refined. He pressed his lips together.

“I don’t know. He was already unconscious when I found him.”

Fang Yiyang blinked. “Oh.”

So… was Su Mu getting infected or not?

When they returned to the Su residence, Luo Beiyao ignored everyone’s gazes and carried Su Mu straight toward the bedroom.

Lu Shuangshuang and Jiang Sheng hurried after him. Hearing the footsteps behind him, Luo Beiyao tightened his lips and said nothing. As soon as he entered the room, he shut the door behind him, cutting the two of them off outside.

Lu Shuangshuang was genuinely worried about Su Mu. She had been crying ever since they got back. Now that she finally saw him, only to be shut out by Luo Beiyao, she wiped her eyes and knocked on the door.

“Boss, how is Mu Tou? Please open the door.”

Jiang Sheng had just barely reached the point where he could protect himself. He was timid by nature and preferred sticking close to Su Mu for a sense of security. If Su Mu really ended up in trouble, surviving alone in the apocalypse would be terrifying for him.

But unlike Lu Shuangshuang, he didn’t dare ask outright. He knew about Luo Beiyao and Su Mu’s relationship—and it was obvious Luo Beiyao hadn’t let go of Su Mu yet.

As for those people in the team who thought Luo Beiyao liked Wu Keke, Jiang Sheng could only feel speechless.

Women—how could they be as fun as men?

As a proud, card-carrying gay man, Jiang Sheng felt that Su Mu was exactly his type—dangerously perfect. Unfortunately, he had the lust but not the courage. He would never dare provoke Su Mu again.

Hearing Lu Shuangshuang’s voice, Luo Beiyao’s brow visibly furrowed. With clear impatience, he replied, “He’s not going to die.”

Only then did Lu Shuangshuang finally feel relieved. She didn’t understand why Luo Beiyao insisted on shutting the door, but she could tell he meant no harm toward Su Mu for now. Seeing that Luo Beiyao was clearly in a terrible mood, she silently withdrew her hand from the door.
